You’re Chasing Success the Wrong Way Episode 26-Part 2: What Does Success According to God Really Look Like?
What if success has less to do with what you achieve and more to do with who you become, how you serve, and whether you faithfully walk out what God has called you to do?
In Episode 26, Part 2, Jaime and Mike continue their conversation about what success looks like according to God.
They challenge the idea of chasing the blessing without pursuing the Blesser and explore why true success isn’t simply about money, accomplishments, recognition, or even seeing the final results of the work you started.
Success is about faithfulness.
It’s about becoming who God called you to be, doing what He placed in your hands, loving people well, growing in wisdom, serving others, and keeping your faith intact along the way.
In this conversation, they discuss:
• Why we often want what’s in God’s hands without truly pursuing God
• What it means to do everything for the glory of God
• Why the Bible is our instruction manual for life
• The difference between simply having knowledge and actually walking in wisdom
• Why wisdom is applied knowledge and how our experiences can help others
• Why some people walk away from their faith
• The importance of consistently feeding your spiritual life
• Finishing the assignment God has given you, even when you may never see the full result
• Building a legacy that continues beyond your lifetime
• Why God may be more concerned with how you sow than the harvest you produce
• The difference between controlling the seed and trying to control the outcome
• Why serving people is such an important part of success
• Stewardship, integrity, obedience, leadership, and loving people well
• How small daily acts of obedience can have a much bigger impact than we realize
One of the biggest reminders from this episode is simple:
We can control the sowing. We cannot control the harvest.
Our responsibility is to faithfully plant the seeds God has placed in our hands: to serve, love, lead, grow, obey, and steward well and trust God with the outcome.
And when it comes to wisdom, knowing the right thing isn’t enough. Real wisdom comes when we take what we know, apply it to our lives, learn from experience, and use those lessons to help the people coming behind us.
As the episode comes to a close, Mike offers a practical way to evaluate success every single day:
What does success look like today?
Ask yourself:
-Did I obey and do what I knew I was supposed to do?
-Did I love people well?
-Did I steward what God placed in my hands well?
Then, at the end of the day, reflect on where you can grow and do it even better tomorrow.
Success doesn’t always require a massive platform, a huge accomplishment, or a grand gesture.
Sometimes it looks like obedience.
Sometimes it looks like integrity.
Sometimes it looks like serving someone.
Sometimes it looks like encouraging a person, paying for a meal, sharing your wisdom, smiling at somebody, or simply doing what God told you to do.
True success is faithfully becoming who God called you to be, doing what He called you to do, loving the people He entrusted to you, and finishing your life with your faith intact.
